Purpose

This policy aims to ensure that all digital content provided by Niagara College is accessible to individuals with disabilities, promoting an inclusive learning environment.

Scope

This policy applies to all web content and digital platforms managed by Niagara College Research and Innovation, including websites, online courses, and mobile applications.

Accessibility Standards

Niagara College Research and Innovation commits to complying with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and Niagara College’s Accessibility Standards.

Responsibilities

• Web Development Team: Ensure compliance of new and existing digital content.
• Content Creators: Attend training on accessibility best practices and implement them in their work.
• Accessibility Coordinator: Monitor compliance, provide resources, and address accessibility concerns

Training and Resources

Regular training sessions will be offered to faculty and staff on creating accessible content. Resources will be made available online.
