Eligibility Requirements
Our goal is to assist organizations that are experiencing growth and require research and development, whether that’s growing internally, geographically or starting to bring in revenue, we’re here to help.
Our business development team can work with you to find an option that best suits your needs. Here are the eligibility requirements for the three ways to partner with us:
Funding sources cover most project costs, including labour, materials, and administration, with a 1:1 match from an outside industry partner (combination of cash and in-kind contribution.) Industry partners must meet funding criteria to qualify (often 2+2 model in years in business plus number of employees).
Anyone can access this service. This is a great option if you are looking to have a quick turn-around service performed using our technical expertise and specialized equipment. A quote is provided before the work begins, followed by an invoice at the service’s completion.
Anyone can access this service. Course-based projects are an accessible, low-barrier way for industry partners to work with Research & Innovation, as they typically have little to no costs.
Getting Started

Step One: Start the conversation
Fill out and submit the Expression of Interest form.
Step Two: We evaluate
We will contact you within two business days and schedule a call to answer any preliminary questions you may have and assess your project needs.
Step Three: Determine partnership eligibility
Our business development team will determine partnership eligibility and send a project application form for you to fill out.
Step Four: Conduct your project
Once the project application form is signed off on, we execute the project. You will work closely with your Research and Innovation team during all phases of the project to achieve your project goals.
Step Five: Reap the rewards
After project sign-off, you obtain rights to the intellectual property generated from the project. You can now benefit from the project’s deliverables and achieve greater success for your organization!
